worship leader position

About The Role
The Worship Leader will wear a number of largely interrelated hats given our context. Additionally, there are other needs within but not limited to a specific team; think tasks (administrative and otherwise) associated with music development and production, volunteer development and care, and of course worship leadership. This person will have a hand in many of these teams and be assigned certain areas of direct oversight.
They will primarily work with the Lead Pastor, a musician, in planning worship for our gatherings. They will also lead the music team – helping people grow in faith, leadership, and connection through music. Assimilation of new musicians will also be a high priority.
We are looking for a healthy mix of gifting, being musically talented, relational and being able to provide an environment for people to meet God in a new ways.
Duties & ResponsibilitIes
(1) Planning and cultivating of worship environment: We want our worship services to be God-honoring, passionate and also meaningful to people who have given up on church but not on God. This person would create a worship atmosphere that honors that aim.
(2) Leading worship in a corporate setting: This person must be equipped and willing to lead our worship team through music in our gatherings.
(3) Recruiting and caring for new and current musicians: We want our Worship Leader to play a highly relational role when it comes to our current and potential team members. This looks like intentional relationship building both within and outside our church.
(4) Maintaining ownership over areas of responsibility: Our Worship Leader must be consistently reliable in their areas of responsibility. This looks like keeping up with team members, planning and running rehearsals, staying on top of deadlines/communications, overseeing Pro-Presenter, and initiating necessary changes as needed.
(5) Dependability and willingness to follow through: Overall, this person must be highly dependable and self-sufficient. When given a project or leadership role, this person can be counted on to complete the task before them with excellence.
Reporting Relationship
This person will report directly to the Lead Pastor
Hours & Compensation
This staff position is part-time position of 15 hours per week. The salary is in keeping with regional salaries for similar roles in churches of our size.
